Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She's written 15 books, and she is co-founder the magazine The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington has been a journalist, TV personality as well as a philanthropist, author and journalist for more than 10 years. Her role also includes being the founder of The Huffington Post, an independently-liberal online newsmagazine. Her birthplace was in Greece and relocated to England at the age of sixteen. At Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA of Economics. The well-known debating club The Cambridge Union was her first presidency and she did it when she was 21. Following the graduation ceremony, she became a prominent Conservative syndicated journalist. After a few years after that she launched The Huffington Post which featured critiques of the current political scene. She was able to get several prominent contributors who posted their opinions regarding politics and culture. Arianna was first noticed during 2003 when she volunteered in the California recall election in the place of Governor Davis. In addition to this she also led the Detroit Project to develop fuel efficient cars. Her name was voted as the most influential women in media according to Forbes in 2009 and was awarded 12th position on the list. In the same year Guardian named her on the 100 most influential media on their list. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post, and she was made the president of this group. This included many AOL properties of that time, including Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli is the child of Konstantinos who was a Journalism and management expert. She was extremely close to her father, but it was her relationship with her mother which formed her. From her early years, she demonstrated leadership skills which are still widely admired. In the year she turned 16years old, she emigrated from America to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. She joined Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college in which she became the first woman to be elected the president. She graduated in 1972 with the degree of master's in Economics. After her graduation she worked as a journalist-critic as well as a TV host. Also, with Bernard Levin she appeared on an episode of Face the music.
